Budget 2005-2006 Headlines New

 
The total size of national budget for 2005-06 is Taka 64,383 Crore , which is 15.7% higher than of revised budget of 2004-05
The size of ADP is Taka 24,500 Crore, which is 19.5% higher than of previous year
52% of the the budget is financed by own domestic resources and 48% from foreign resources
Total 54% of development and non-development budget will be spent for poverty alleviation
Highest allocation is in education sector: Taka 9686 Crore, which is 15% of total allocation
Allocation for health sector is Taka 4234 Crore
Agricultural subsidy has been increased to Taka 1200 crore
Agricultural credit up to Taka 5000 will be written off
The subsidy in electricity for agriculture (20%) will be continued
Subsidy on urea fertiliser 25% will be continued
For flood control Taka 1200 Crore has been allocated
For flood control dam construction Taka 2383 Crore has been allocated
Old age remuneration has been increased from Taka 165 to Taka 180 , the coverage is targetd 1,315

Taka 150 Crore has been allocated additionally for ntrepreneurs' Equity Fund (EEF)
Communication allocation is 4832 crore Taka in development budget

Allocation for Post and Telecommunication is 1426 crore Taka
Foreign investment is expected to 12 Billion USD
Local investment has increased 43%
RMG sector: Direct subsidy will continue at 5% rate for next year
By 2006/7, 11 ministry will develop their own budget and gradually all ministry will follow that
More 5000 crore expenditure will be required for payment of government staffs
Revenue : GDP ration is 10.5%
Tax will be a major sources for development budget
Income tax lower limit is extended to 120,000 Taka
Non-listed company tax is increased to 40%
Source tax for RMG export item is 0.25%
Source tax for Stock Exchange Members is 0.01%
Registration tax 2.5% for Real Estate Companies
Tax on Computer Software will remain unchanged upto 30 June, 2008 at 30%
Black money can be made white (legalize) by 2006
The period for whitening black money is extended upto June 2006
Tax rebate on importing agriculture raw materials, poultry feed
For encouraging higher education all kind of tax will be rebate on Books and Journals
Mobile SIM Card will be minimum Taka 1200
Full tax rebate on Refined Oil
35% extended tax on Mineral Water
Tax on Agro-processing industry is 35%
VAT collection system will be given preference rather increasing more area
VAT on agriculture insecticides is rebate
