Message from Project Director SDNP Bangladesh

Welcome to

Sustainable Development Information Bank on Seas and Oceans
SDNP, Bangladesh

The Sustainable Development Networking Program (SDNP), Bangladesh is striving to connect Bangladesh with the World Wide Web for safer, cleaner and more productive life, environment and sustainable development in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is a Maritime nation with a long coastline. A very large part of the people depends for their livelihood on harvesting and processing of various marine and coastal resources. At the same time resources are under threat from over exploitation as well as natural causes including sea level rise due to climate change. Furthermore, the country’s marine jurisdiction is as yet unclear. On the eve of the World Environment Day 2004, SDNP invites all its patrons to browse the website to know more about these aspects of the importance of the seas and oceans in the nation's life.

Any suggestion for improvement in terms of content and design of the webpage will be most welcome. You can send them either though e-mail, by post, fax or phone. These contact addresses are given elsewhere

Wishing you all a productive and happy life.

M. Asaduzzman
Project Director, SDNP & Research Director BIDS.
