Status Report 2000 of GHG Inventories

At its fifth session, the Conference of the Parties adopted the guidelines for the technical review of greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories from Parties included in Annex I to the Convention, for a trial period covering inventory submissions due in 2000 and 2001 (decision 6/CP.5).  This technical review comprises three stages: 
   a)  initial check of annual inventories;
   b)  synthesis and assessment of annual inventories; and 
   c)  expert review of individual inventories. 
According to these guidelines, the initial check of annual inventories should provide an assessment of the completeness of  the national inventory submissions, in particular, the data electronically submitted using the common reporting format (CRF).  For each Annex I Party, the results of this assessment should be published on the UNFCCC web site as a status report.  The table below provides an overview of the GHG inventories received by the secretariat in 2000 as well as links to the status reports for those Annex I Parties that submitted data using the CRF.  An overview of the CRF tables for the year 1998 submitted to the secretariat can be viewed by clicking here.
