Inter-Linkages between the Ozone and Climate Change Conventions - Part I: Inter-Linkages between the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols

A report developed as a contribution to the World Sumit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) that investigates the interfaces and synergies between the Montreal and Kyoto Protocols. This report not only focuses on past performance, but also examines the need and potential for greater coordination during the implementation of multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs). The lessons learned from achieving coherence during the implementation of MEAs - specifically through this case study of the conventions on ozone and climate change - should also be relevant to other MEA areas. Produced by the United Nations University, UNEP DTIE OzonAction Programme, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Global System for Sustainable Development (GSSD), and the Alliance for Global Sustainability Value of Knowledge Project. 2002.
