APAN Dhaka Symposium and Workshop
January 28 – 31, 2005

Dhaka, 28 January, 2005 : A 4(four) day long international workshop on advanced networking technologies jointly organized by APAN (Asia-Pacific Advanced Network) and SDNP Bangladesh (Sustainable Development Networking Programme) has been starting from January 28,  2005. The programme is supported by the SEMP, MoEF and UNDP.

The workshop was inaugurated on January 28, 2005 at 10:00am by Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury, Vice Chancellor BRAC University and Chairperson, SDNP Steering Committee. Dr. M. Asaduzzaman, Project Director, SDNP and Research Director, BIDS presided over the session. A day long Pre-BGP session was conducted by Dr. M. Hakikur Rahman, Project Coordinator, SDNP throughout the day. Delegates and resource persons from various organizations attended the session. Due to unavoidable circumstances prefixed program at January 29, 2005, workshop on BDIX (Bangladesh Internet Exchange) and Internet Society Bangladesh Chapter will be arranged on February 01, 2005. Mr. Syed Marghub Murshed, Chairman, Bangladesh Telecom Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has kindly given his consent to grace the occasion. From January 30-31, 2005 APAN Dhaka Symposium (Post-APAN meeting) on APAN’s Natural Resources, e-Learning, DNS, Network Operation Center (NOC)/Internet Exchange (IX) and Network Security will be conducted by various expatriate resource persons.
