TRAINING ON
INTERNET EXCHANGE AT BDIX A five days long hand-on training session on the different technical aspects of the Internet Exchange in Bangladesh has started at the BDIX premises of the SDNP Bangladesh at Panthapath from November 26, 2004. Mr. Philip Smith, CISCO Consultant and Mr. Gaurab Raj Upadhaya, PCH Consultant are providing the training to the BDIX personnel, including the system administrators of the connected ISPs, and a few ISPs by the invitation of ISPAB. The training has been segmented into three sessions. During the first day BDIX own routers and router server are being updated and re-configured for smooth operation and synchronization to operate BGP and IBGP. On November 27 and 28, system administrators from the connected 9 ISPs and 6 personnel from the invited ISPs will be trained to upgrade the router at their end, and learn to fix the related problems. During November 29 and 30, the technical experts will be visiting the premises of the connected ISPs to solve any problem at their end. The Joint Secretary of ISPAB, Mr. Sabbir Ahmad Suman is providing technical support on behalf of the ISPAB, and Dr. Hakikur Rahman, Project Coordinator of SDNP Bangladesh is moderating the training sessions.
