Opinion Sharing Meeting in Regional Nodes To introduce SDNP at grass-root level and at the same time learn from the communities about their opinions and experiences, three opinion sharing meeting were held in the three regional nodes of SDNBD. In Barisal it was held on June 24, 2004 at the Barisal Press Club, where journalists, academics and NGO personalities attended. The meeting was presided by the President of the press club. In Satkhira it was held on July 19, 2004 at the Satkhira Town Hall, where the members of the Satkhira Press Club, academics and NGO professional attended. The meeting was presided by Mr. Monsoor Ahmed, the Ex-MP of Satkhira. In Cox's Bazar it was held on August 18, 2004 at a local hotel, where the members of the Cox's Bazar Press Club, NGO personalities, and academics were present. The ADC (General) Cox's Bazar attended the meeting as the chief guest. In all the meetings, Dr. Hakikur Rahman, Project Coordinator presented the keynote speech and briefed about the overall activities of SDNP in Bangladesh. |
